A woman went for a walk on the beach, children picked up such a thing thinking it to be a shell, she was fined Rs 73 lakh

If you go anywhere for a trip, then you must know about the rules and regulations of that place. Otherwise, you may have to pay a heavy price for a small mistake. As happened with this woman. She had gone to the beach with her children. But while playing, the children mistook the things lying there for shells and picked them up, which resulted in the woman’s doom. The administration imposed a fine of 88,000 dollars i.e. about 73 lakh rupees.

According to the New York Post report, the incident is from California, America. Charlotte Russ had gone to Pismo Beach with her children. It is also called the clam capital. Pismo clam is a shrimp, but its shape looks like a mussel. The children found it very adorable. While returning, they picked up 72 clams from the clamming hotspot. They did not know that picking up clams from here is a crime and the punishment for it is a heavy fine. Only those people can pick it up who have fishing licenses.

When I received the email, I was stunned to see it
The children and their mother had no idea about this. As soon as they started returning, the fisheries department caught them. They were immediately given a receipt for the fine. Charlotte thought it would be a small amount and she would pay it. But when she received an email, she was stunned. The fisheries department had ordered her to pay a fine of $88,993, or about Rs 73 lakh.

we can’t touch anything
Charlotte said, I was so sad and depressed that I felt my whole journey was ruined. I knew that there are many beaches where we cannot touch anything. But this thought never came about the shells. On the advice of people, I went to the court. I apologized for my mistake and then the court reduced the fine to 500 dollars. Despite this, I had to deposit Rs 41619 there. This experience gave me and my children valuable lessons about wildlife.

make these rules
The department also issued a statement about this. It said, we have made these rules because we allow them to grow up to 4.5 inches. So that they can lay eggs and produce offspring every year. Pismo clams are found exclusively in the eastern Pacific Ocean and can be identified by their thick, large, triangular shells. Their color is light or brown. By looking at the shell, you will feel that these are oysters. Fishermen can also pick up only 10 Pismo clams daily.
